According to 70 OK Stat § 1210.194 (2022), any child afflicted with a contagious disease may be prohibited from attending a public, private, or parochial school until such time as they are free from the contagious disease.
As of right now, TES has had two confirmed staff cases and one confirmed student case of scabies in 4th grade. All individuals have been treated and released. Once treatment begins, individuals are no longer contagious.
If your child has signs of a rash, please keep them home tomorrow and seek medical attention. If students are sent to school with a rash, we will call for an explanation and/or for them to be picked up. Students may return with medical documentation that they do not have scabies and/or treatment has been started. These absences will be treated as excused.
Janitorial staff have been busy over the weekend deep cleaning the school. Teachers and staff have been instructed to remain vigilant in cleaning their classrooms periodically and to look for signs of rash in students. Monday, October 23, Mr. Randall will be bringing over a pallet of Lysol wipes for anyone in the community who needs them for whatever reason.
Again, we ask if your child has had any type of a rash, to keep them home tomorrow and get them medically evaluated. Don't just keep them at home. This will help keep other students and staff safe and will help rectify the situation.
Thank you for your assistance in the matter.

Congratulations to The Pride of Tonkawa for receiving 1st Place in Class in the Preliminary Competition at Holdenville Blue & Gold Marching Classic. They placed in the top 12 bands of the day out of 19 that attended which qualified them to perform in the Finals where they tied for 8th place across all classes!!! Fantastic day of Marching Competition!
