We had a swashbuckling good time today meeting our new crewmates for next year! ⚓️
If ye couldn’t make it to Pre-K enrollment, have no fear—there’s still treasure to be found! Just give the elementary school office a call (580-628-2592) to schedule your visit. Your little buccaneer will get to complete a quick “captain’s check,” meet their future teacher, explore the school, and even sail away with a treasure chest full of goodies! 🗺️✨
We can’t wait for your little Buccaneer to join our crew! 🏴☠️

As we approach April, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking the Oklahoma School Testing Program (OSTP) assessments. These tests are an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and growth. We want to ensure that every child feels confident and prepared for success.
How to Help Your Child Succeed:
Get a Good Night’s Rest – Ensure your child gets at least 8–10 hours of sleep each night before testing days. A well-rested mind helps with focus and performance.
Arrive on Time – Testing will begin promptly in the morning. Being on time allows your child to start the day stress-free and ready to do their best. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and ends at 7:55. Students need to be in their seats at 8:05.
Encouragement Matters – A positive attitude can make a big difference! Encourage your child to take their time, read carefully, and do their very best.
We appreciate your support in making testing days a smooth and successful experience for all students. If your child has appointments these days please see if you can reschedule as it is difficult to make up tests. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 580-628-2592 or email kvincent@tonkawa.k12.ok.us.
Thank you for your partnership in your child’s education!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Vincent

He brought in the cutest “cupcakes” to share with his class—complete with swirls of “frosting” and colorful sprinkles. Everyone thought they looked so good!
Turns out, they were actually cornbread with mashed potatoes on top 😄
The kids were definitely surprised, and the teachers got a good laugh watching all the reactions. It was all in good fun and made for a pretty memorable day 💛
Gotta love a harmless prank and a kid who enjoys making people smile!

🏅📚 TES READING OLYMPICS! 📚🏅
Our librarian, Mrs. Bess, came up with a creative and fun way for our school to celebrate the Winter Olympics—by turning reading into its own Olympic event! ❄️
Students in PK–2nd grade and 3rd–5th grade competed in different reading “events” like:
📖 Reading a sports book
📰 Reading an article
❄️ Reading about the Olympics
🎨 Coloring an Olympic picture
📚 Reading a winter-themed book
…and more fun activities designed to keep our students engaged and excited about reading!
Once completed the students did a victory run in the morning assembly and were presented their gold medals. The finalist were awarded a surprise pizza party for participating.
It was a fantastic way to combine learning, creativity, and a little Olympic spirit. We’re so proud of all our readers for going for the gold in reading! 🥇📖

Her visit was paid for entirely by PTO, using funds raised through generous community support and fundraisers like the Buc Dash. These events truly make special learning experiences like this possible!
Students loved hearing her story about her Corgi, Buddy, and had a great time asking questions and learning about what it’s like to be an author. Thank you again to PTO, Mrs. Bess for setting this event up, and everyone who supports our school!
